Bought a 74' Maverick sedan, I find the sedan has a better stance and has a muscle feel to it then the coupes, to me the coupes seem to small, my plans are to do the following:
    - front and rear small bumper conversion
    - shelby tail lights
    - 1969 mustang rear valance
    - 1974 comet grille and hood
Any of these good and has anyone done the comet grille and hood conversion? I know the fenders are exact identical, but what will be needed for the grille

If you dont plan to nuy rhe complete shelby tailpanel i wouldnt do the shelby/cougar lights

If using stock mav tail panel look into bobcats or perhaps caprice lights

For comet conversion, id imagine youd need bumper/brackets
    bumper filler
    grille
    hood?

67 Shelby taillights fit perfect without the Shelby panel crap.. They are flat on the rear.. All I had to do is place the gaskets on the car as a template and viola good luck with your car sounds like it will turn out nice

I don't believe "perfect" would be the correct word to use here when you consider that the Shelby lights have a thicker/taller profile than the raised panel section running across the Mavericks rear panel. Which then causes the thicker profiled Shelby lights edges to overshoot it and leaves a mismatch. Which is of course why some still prefer to use the raised profile panel which was designed specifically for and intended to be used with the Shelby lights.

Some want to sweat the little details and will go the extra mile to get them. Some don't and look past the flaws because it makes their jobs easier or they're just not that picky.

All Mavericks are sedans. There's no such thing as a Maverick "coupe". And there's no way a 4-door looks better than the 2-door.

It still looks better then with the weird raised squares IMO.. And I've actually had a73 4 door that was pretty sexy ( crazy larry) Had a great stance, centerlines , factory 302/c4 , base model w/ no trim!!

The bright window trim was nothing more than a $50 odd dollar option on a base model, someone ordered the upscale drive train and left off the frills...

Excepting for Grabber all Mav start out as base models, Sprint and Stallion were package options much like the GT Comet...

Same for side moldings, optional, not included unless specifically ordered...

Other lines had upscale models, with increasing trim & interior levels... For instance in the '60s full size had Custom(School marm, no trim, no frills, basically equal to Maverick without options), Custom 500(a little more trim, bright window moldings std), Galaxie(more trim, better interior), Galaxie 500 with top line trim & interior, but options like bucket seats not available(includes other models already mentioned)... Finally there was top dog Galaxie 500XL, this one had V8 and deluxe bucket seats std... If you wanted bucket seats & console, you bought the XL or lived without them...

IF it had four lug it was originally a 6cyl, ALL with V8 option got five lugs without exception... Disc brakes were not available till '74 and even then were optional, power disc was optional in '75... No model had a glove box prior to mid '73, then it became standard...

    Well that's just silly.
I have to laugh at the number of people who are clueless about how to install "Shelby" tail lights on a Maverick. My friend did it in his and it looks like it came that way from the factory. He didn't use the Shelby Mustang panel, but that is certainly an option.
