Does anyone know if a 1973 Maverick that is not optioned with the formentioned items had the wiring stubbed out from the fuse box to a plug that could easily be plugged into? I'm not even sure if the under dash lights or map lights were an option in 1973.

As I recall or I should say as best as I can recall, I believe the lighting package had its own harness which I think piggy backed onto the connectors in the left kick panel. I know I've removed this before but cant really remember the paticulars.

I seem to recall extra "stubs" for lights up under the dash. This would be for optional cigareete lighter light, glove box light, etc.

My 69.5 had the lighter delete, there was a harness taped behind the tray for it, also Ford offered a under dash lighting kit that consisted of a Y-harness and lights that clipped on under the dash of most 70 model cars of that time. My car also has this. It is listed on the original receipt as a Dealer addition: Floor Lighting. $9.83 Part # FO-C89156. Hope this helps
