I'm getting close to installing the front fenders. Before I do that, I need to align the doors. Does any one know the distance between door and the quarter panel? I think I have mine to far forward.
    Thanks

I would suggest lining the door with the body first then the fender to the door.

Thanks, I found my book right after I posted. Ithought the gap was bigger than it really was. I've got .23". If I read the book right, that's in there.

A trick to make sure your door will line up everytime is to drill 2 holes w/ a small bit through the hinges into the body before you remove them, hopefully they have never been removed since being installed at the factory. Then when you reinstall them, use the same bit to realign the hinges to the body,& obviously try to leave the hinges bolted to the doors while they are off. But,if you have to take the hinges off you can do the same thing to the doors. It`s a trick body & paint men use.

Oh, I took them off months ago. Then found out they were so rusted there was no point in trying to save them. Bought 2 more doors. Plus rebuilt the hinges. I've got the passenger side set, now I just have to do the drivers side.
Thanks for the info. I'll remember that for the next car.
