I just use the Sylvania halogen replacements in mine. I have been happy with them.

I tried some with the "diamond cut" reflectors, they were garbage, couldn't even see to drive at night.

Lots of cheaper options available. Search something like "Harley shovelhead headlight" or similar. Seven inch headlights are very common aftermarket..... As long as it's seven inch it will bolt in. Might have to modify the wire connector.

With any factory or aftermarket you should install relays . It will increase voltage to light by almost 45% = bright light

I doubt it's anywhere near 45%(that'd be only 7.7v with alt charging 14v), still a couple volts increase is well worthwhile...

When I put the headlamps back into my Comet I noticed one was brighter than the other(it has it has relay upgrade), so I took a look at each... Dimmer one is a std Sylvania halogen, the brighter is a Sylvania Performance which I assume is one of the Silverstars(I've not pulled it out to double check the number)...

I bought ebay tri-bar halogens 8 or 9 years ago, they're ok. Definitely better than the stock sealed beams. Did have to make the hole larger in the rear of the headlight buckets, though.
