vac line on top of the carburetor help

    Heyguys I'm almost done with the maverick but i was wanting to see if you know what this vac line is on top of the carburetor i have one line going down to the fuel pump so now i just need to know about this one

    I think that is a vent for the fuel bowl, and the line connects to the little filter in the air cleaner base. (it's been a while ... I might be wrong. Somebody verify this please)

    Please put some clamps on the fuel line! You might end up with a Car-B-Q otherwise.

    1972 Comet GT clone 306 . 1969 Fairlane Cobra 428CJ 1988 T-Bird awaiting 331 ..
    That's a later emissions carb, def not '72... I believe it routed to the charcoal canister, but it's stupid and will work just as well vented into base of air cleaner... The '72 carb was open to atmosphere just a hole in top of carb with no connection...

    I second the clamps, with a hot engine bay the hose will soften and blow off...

    ThNk you guys we just connected it to fire it up one time but I definitely will put a clamp on there I don't think I would like to have a barbecue of my car the used taste kind of rusty

    Replace the fuel line and filter also
