I'm gonna be driving with another friend (2 cars) with all the seats full (14 people) and we are gonna be leaving in a month or two, but I'm preparing my car, got 4 spare wheels, bringing extra belts and gaskets and some parts, cleaning the oil, installing a new radiator soon and getting ready, the only catch is, we're gonna drive on the "devils highway", highway 666 or know as now 491, question is is it really 491 or 191, confused on that one and has anyone ever driven on that road, I know a lot of accidents had occurred and deaths, but I plan on having extra wheels, gas jugs, battery, and food and such, any thing else I need to be prepared for?

I dont get it either. How long is the trip? Where is it starting? 14 people in 2 Mavericks? At best you could do 12 assuming you have bench seats in the front. WHY?... and who are these people willing to be crammed into 2 old cars for a road trip with no actual purpose??? Actually Im not even sure WTH I am posting in this thread. I must be bored and in the mood for a good story. So lets have some details.

As long as each person weights 100 lbs. or less and no more than 100 lbs. is in the trunk you should be good.

If your passengers weigh an average of 150 lbs. each and with the driver at the same weight including the car , extra
tires, tools , fuel , and incidentals you should be nudging about two tons of weight on the tires. That's asking a lot of
ANY Maverick or Comet . Years ago a group of college kids attempted to break a guinness world record by seeing how
many students could be crammed into a Phone Booth .. The results were catastrophic .. I hope you post photos of this
endeavor .. I'd like to see this also !!

Three people, luggage for a week for each, a compact spare, and small bag of tools put my Maverick on the bump stops, and busted a shock. Good luck.

Wow this thread is already filled up lol, sorry I haven't gotten an alert or notification and I've been busy,
the trip is gonna be 3 weeks, we're gonna spend a few nights every place we stop and it's only my mav and a buddies truck which is a 3 seater so we're only gonna take 9 instead, and I do have a bench seat, and we're going up there because we're gonna drive to Florida but we heard about this "mysterious" highway and we're headed in that direction anyways so might as well stop by,
I'm aware of the luggage weight, that's why we're taking the truck as well, so far we have spare tires, we have far enough money for gas, and we have a breakdown kit just incase and flares and such, we also have a few dirt bikes we're gonna take with a trailer to have some fun, I have done tons of research for the trip, I'm getting my car a tuneup In a week, I just bought a voltage regulator and a starter solenoid since its been having small issues but tooken care of it, was the battery that need replacing so bought a new one on its way
of course, what's the point without pics lol, we're gonna put 3 go pros on each vehicle (expensive but well worth it)
