    Lance,

Personally I think words of the painted or vinyl variety on a car that is not a drag car doesn't look all that great. Like has been said, you open yourself up for jokes, and after a few years the novelty wears off and you find yourself saying, "why did I do that?"

It's matter of opinion and that's mine. Do what you want, you're going to anyway :D :slap:

    Sam :)

Had a '70 Torino Cobra (429 SCJ) that had " To Far Gone " air brushed on the back of the deck lid several years ago. Wish I still had it.

In the late eighties I knew several guys with "named " cars ...A `Pro-street `69 camaro that was corvette yellow Had "Golden Rule" painted on its rear spoiler it ran 10.30`s in the quarter with a small block 400 ...on the hood scoop it said "Small Wonder"

My buddys pro street 65 Mustang said "Pony Express" on the back (9.50`s with a Cleveland on Juice!)

Another local had a `71 camaro (also tubbed) with a big block it said "Master Blaster"
    on its rear spoiler.

Also there was a 351 w pinto my coisin had that said "Quarter Horse " on the doors.

I think the flames would be great if done tastefully with the "flame broiled" air brushed on the spoiler, of course the car would need to back up the paint job. I would think a street car that can pull a mid to high 7's in the eighth could walk the walk.

    Craig,

    Thats my Car...........
My Brothers Car will be Painted Black with the Orange FLames or Highlights. If we go that route not sure yet. But yea I like Your wagon, Thanks for the thumbs up man. Naming a Car or giving it a theme is just kinda cool IMO it makes it stand out from the rest. Kinda Like Rayzorsharps car will be known as "The Shelby Mav" It can't be confused with another car. I think this car will see alot of Drag Racing hence the name as well. We are hoping to get it in the high 9s on juice, low 11s on the motor. Just want it to look good while going fast. There are only maybe 10 mavs locally and 2 comets and none of them are show worthy IMO including my car(hoping to change that next year as well) I know Show and Drag is hard to pull off but that's the goal and My brother and I are determined to accomplish this tastefully, safe , and on scheldue. I skimped on my car because I am economically challenged. My brother works for Ford Motor Company(Transmission plant) and makes enough money to pull this off. Safety is a main concern of mine as I would hate to see my brother hurt because I helped build him a Wicked fast ride and half a$$ed it in the saftey department. He is young at 20 years old and I guess I worry. I told him he had to drive my car around a few weeks before I would even think about letting him drive this car. He did not like that but when I said ok build it without my help or input he relented. :) Sorry for the long post just love building these mavericks and sharing this stuff with you guys.

I like the idea. Whatever you do, don't call it "wild thing" I have seen so many cars at racetracks and car shows called wild thing it's ridiculous.

I saw another station wagon with flames on it. It had a real cool name: "Haul of Flame". Dang.....I wish I would have thought of it first.

Lets see....:hmmm: How about " Draggin' Fire". Sort of a spin on Dragon Fire. All you need is an airbrushed picture of a mean looking steer with flames coming out of it's snout.

I think this is a neat subject.....got one of my mags a while back and they have the whats "in & out" section.....naming cars was "in" in a early issue years back......recently it is "out"

its a preference......I would not plaster the name across the door of my car like I see all the time at the track....tastefully done.....looks good (y)
and those on here that say, do not name it.....whats your cars name :D
cause I know its got one :bouncy:
