After a long delay, I started doing some assessing of the car , 1972 Comet I purchase in Feb'15. I removed the windshield and rear glass, the carpet and seats. My next step is to remove the Dash and see what lurks there. Floor pans were patched (not a detailed and clean fix). I will probably have it done right along with the cowl cleanup if needed.

The seats are not 1972 Comet as I remember the seats of the car I owned in 1972. My guess they are Mustang (1985/86) from the parts car the 302 4 barrel engine, C4, and 9" rear come from.

The seats were bolted to the floor pan directly (not a clean job), I will need to fabricate something I can attach to the tracks and provide the desired height(s).

    My questions:

Can anyone confirm these as mustang seats?

Any ideas on modifying the tracks?

    Thanks in Advance

Added an additional photo of bottom. Also, the latch for folding down chairs is at center top.

They look like 70's General Motors seats to me.

They look like the seats that were in my old '79 Rally Sport Camaro.

Thanks guys, seems you all are confirming the same. After Googl'ing around, they do have similarity to Camaro Seats and a later model GM.

Noticed the wiring at the bottom of the seat, must be a later option, possibly a fart detector.

They are nice, comfortable seats, I'll just keep moving forward and mod the install to use them, For my purpose it should be fine.

    Thanks!
