Some people here may get offended but I just painted my freshly rebuilt/slightly modified 302 chevy engine orange. My reasoning is that in the factory blue color, it wouldn't fit my motif. The car is '69 Hugger Orange, the complete hood is painted mopar rally black, the engine compartment is painted black and the blue just didn't fit in. It looked horrible, so I painted it orange and it looks great. So...........sorry to offend, but that's what I wanted.
the only thing offensive about that........is you did not come with pics I have know problem with it. I think that the engine paint MUST go with the car. We did my motor black......blue would not fit in it either. no problems here.......as long as the distributor is at the right end of the motor
Cool! Blue and Black dont mix that well agreed. Glad you like it. P.S. I am totally against chevy but colors are alright ; ))
are you saying you have a 302 Chevy motor that you painted oj or you pianted your 302 the color chevy oj? anyways you gotta get pics even if its still on the stand
i had to wonder about that too since chevy had a 302 also. then i realized it was a 302 ford painted chevy orange. not a bad color, i guess.
Steve, the picture of the late model stock car you have under your name- is it yours? Just curious, we ran Super Modified for a long time, then Late Model, now we switched to Modified. Not IMCA, kinda like the featherlites they run back east. Just wondered if you were a circle track junkie like me.
No, it's not mine. It was my good friend Robert Smeltzer's SCCA race car. He died in that very car on 10/1/04 at ThunderHill raceway here in N.Cal. Here's a link. http://www.sfrscca.org/InMemoryOf/RobertSmeltzer/ Here's a link to the short story with some pics of just a couple of his toys ZRXOA Message Board - Lost a GREAT friend today............ also........scroll down on this link.....there were updates on the story. rest in piece Robert.
Well............I'm not that Blasphemous. It is most definitly a Ford 302. Sorry for the confusion. A true chevy 302 is worth a fortune. I wouldn't put it in anything other than a camaro. But then again............I already have a belly button and have vowed to never get another one if I can help it.
Steve, sorry for the loss.... been down that road too. The owner of our car is a guy named Ed Sneva, as each of his sons got old enough to drive they started racing. Lost Ed jr.(Babe) at a race in Canada. Really tough to go out to the shop, build a new car, and go back racing. You know they died doing something they loved, but it doesnt make it any less painful.
I have a 69.5 Mav painted Hugger Orange too!! If you look in general under finnally got my mav back you'll see it. I just couldn't resist, I love the color so much.
