Hey Gary, just keep us posted on where your group is going to race the rest of the yr.I want to go to the Ford race at MIR but my wife has plans for us to be in Richmond that Sat. w/ my son & his wife.If they are going to run on Sunday I`ll try to make that day, otherwise just let me know about other races you plan to attend. My company only has 5 drivers & one of them is very sick right now so we are short handed,so I found out today that I`m working Sat.This will help me pay some bills but as long as he is out this will screw up my wknds for awhile.I was glad I could help you,I watched some of the race sunday on the computer & knew you were dissapointed because you did`nt run as well as you wanted to.GOOD LUCK the reat of the yr.
Hey Dan, Just a heads up, I'm coming down to VMP for their legends race 10/31. Hope to see you there!
First time out after a lot of restoration work to the Maverick. Went 10.89 @ 123 mph and the trans didn't want to shift to 3rd, big hasitation before it went into 3rd.
Wanted to go to VMP but could not make as it was my wifes birthday & we went to the mountains, boy I would have really been in the dog house if I tried to get out of that.
You missed a good show! I ran well, made it to the semi's in Pro/footbrake. Car ran dead on all day/night. Got slightly treed in the fifth round, beat by .007. Both of us dead on. He was 10.294 on a 10.29, and I was 9.442 on a 9.44. He was .036 to my .045.
My best best package ever was .011 from perfect, 007 light and .004 off dial... I'm not known for my split second lights so my competition figured I just have to beat old Tom to the light(he had the faster car)... Yeah he ran out, what happens if you keep a tenth or so in the bag...
It's been a crazy year for me...I've made it to the track a few times, but not like I would have liked. My Dad became ill over the winter, and I didn't get the M2 install completed by Spring like I had hoped. Then he passed away in April, and I just couldn't get into it. Put the work on the car on hold and just took on too many projects at work in an effort to keep myself busy. Finally made it out to the track near the end of August, and started getting into the swing of things again...got down to 4 cars the first weekend, and won the next time out. Had some trans issues, and pulled it to have some 1.80 straight cut gears put in (PG). Ran a couple of weekends after that and promptly broke a rod! Cracked the Man O War block, and figured I was done for the season. My son in law's dad happened to have a 408 short block sitting in the garage, and offered to sell it to me. Decided what the He**, bought it, and got the car going again. Planning on hitting a race called the Turkey Bash in Hardinsburg Ky this weekend...Yes, the same Hardinsburg Ky where we had the Roundup track rental a few years ago. Planning on slowing the car down and running the 6.50 Index class. Then, if the weather holds, next weekend, planning on hitting the $5000 No Box race in Clarksville TN. That will more than likely finish me for the year, as weather might not even allow for that race. But hey, if the weather holds, I might hit the Thanksgiving Nationals 10K races in Bowling Green lol.
Hey Gary, did Jay Zolko win the Pro Stick class,he has been running awfully well.I was pretty bummed because I could not make it,but you know the story,if the wife is not happy,no one is happy.
Well I don't even think I'm in the same bracket as you guys besides the fact I have a maverick haha. But I went to track for first time in 4 years.have just cruised around in car. Ran 13.6 at 101 first time out. I drove car to track with some tools. Added a little bit of timing to it and picked up 4 mph and .3 et. Fastest time I've ever had with the car. It's got more room in it to go quicker. Couldn't 60 ft under 2.1 no matter what I did. This tax return I hope to go efi. Sort out my lack of carb knowledge. 45 minute drive to track. Made 5 total runs, drove 45 minutes home and then went through the drive through in it to get some dinner. Even though the car wasn't 100 % I was extremely happy to get out and race
You did good sixkill, you had fun, drove your car to & from the trk,& as Gary would say you made it home w/ the oil in the pan, that is what it is all about.
