hey guys, I'm putting a 302 in my straight 6 maverick. It's gonna be half track half street car. I'm having a hard time finding motor mounts for a v8. And the transmission crossmember. Been look in the junk yard because I can't seem to find anyone that makes them. Anybody know someone that makes them?

    Thanks, trevor

It's been a few years ago but I got my motor mounts from summit and I didn't have to change my crossmember. My car was a 74 with a 250 straight 6.

I used a crossmember from a 77 Granada. Although the holes did not line up perfectly for the tranny mount i was able to re-drill some holes. Fits nicely in the tunnel as well. This was on a 71 Maverick with a 93 5.0L

I searched for a few days before i found someone that i could purchase motor mounts (frame mounts) from. Post in the parts wanted section. Youll find them.

You can always flip backwards, swap sides...lil grinding on the I-6 mounts.
I did mine that way...tough fit though. 0712151612a.jpg

You may have to modify your trans tunnel, the 70 never came w/ a v8 & is very small.

I have the engine in, and running...the c4 fits the tunnel fine.
Anything larger needs trans mount, and driveshaft mods.
Also, the I-6 mount flip makes room for crossmember adjustments.
Moves the engine 1" lower, and 1"back

When you flip the frame mounts around what engine mount are you using? Do they use the horizontal through bolt or the vertical bolt like the fox mustang? his sounds like a good deal!
