28oz vs. 50oz

    I am about to buy a flywheel to install when i do my T5 install. Which one should i get and what is the advantage or disadvantage?? will i, should i match the harmonic balancer to the flywheel? not sure whats on there now.... 71, 302....

    so i guess i should be looking for a 28oz flywheel then correct???

    to be clear, the Flywheel probably weighs @ 20 lbs, the external balance weight is 28 oz.

    Yes...you want a 28oz imbalance fly wheel for a 71 302.

    Are all the Maverick's 157tooth/28 oz or are 164 T FW's used?.

    1973 Comet 2 dr., 302 w/AR aluminum heads, Toploader 4 spd, 9" Trac-Lok w/3.70
    to the best of my knowledge, Mav/Comets with 302's only came with 157T flywheels, use of 164T required a different bellhousing which had a slight bulge at the top for clearance, plus starter location was different too for the larger 164T flywheel. 10" and 10.5" clutch/pressure plates could be used with 157T and larger 11" with the 164T.
