Does anyone know how far up the quarters the aftermarket panels go. Do they reach to the bottom of the back window and to the rear corner of the quarter glass, or do they stop short of that. Have never used the aftermarket ones and am curious as to use them or hold out for a good used set of quarters. One quarter on my car has already been replaced and was cut at middle of the bend in the boomerang moulding, need a replacement to go higher than that.
The aftermarket replacements do not go that far, they reach the top body line and what goes past there has no resemblance to the shape of the car. They are also very different at the bottom where it meets the trunk drop as well as where it turns up to meet the bumper/valance.
That is what I used mine for once I found that they were not close enough to original to use as direct replacements
Wasn't saying that at all, just pointing out where they fall short. Even using them as patch panels you will still have to deal with the areas that are not the same as the originals. I took care of my rust issues by getting a different car so I didn't end up using these!
thanks for the input, dont think I want to use one of those, time to blow the dust off the shear, brake ,roller, shrinker/stretcher and tig welder, I can make nicer patch panels for less.
