I just bought a 70 mav 2 door with a 200 inline. With only one owner a little old lady go figure. Anyway she had the brake system redone and it still pulls to the right bad. I have been told that the front brake hoses need to be replaced.

The problem is I cann't find any. Does anybody know where I can get them.

have you tried napa or auto crafters? I am sure one of them would carry it. Worst comes to worst, take it off and goto a parts store and compare it to some of those that they have in stock from old fords, bet you will find a close match up.
Is it leaking fluid? brake hoses will not make it pull, unless they are leaking fluid and have caused air to enter the system.

Napa and auto cartfers do not have them. I'm still looking for a place that has them. Worst case I could try to find a match with another older ford.

    Did anybody tryed it?

Kanter Auto Products (www.kanter.com) carries front brake hoses for 70 Mavs. I'm replacing my leaking hoses also. They're $25 apiece for drum brakes and $15 shipping if you live up in Alaska like me.

Do you know the part number for the hoses. I called them Saturday and they said they didn't carry them. I hope they didn't stop carrying them.

I talked to a guy named Jeff at Kanter and was told that they don't have a part number:confused: , but go by application instead. I should be getting them in the next day or so, so I'll let you know if they're the right one.

Boy I feel kinda silly. Sent that last post from work this morning, the I get home thirty minutes ago and Kanter Auto has left a message on my machine about my "recent order". I guess you talked to the right people the first time. They said their supplier quite making 1970 Maverick brake hoses and that my best bet would be to try Hemmings. So, anybody know where to find front brake hoses for a 70 Maverick?

make sure that it's not the brake cylinder that's bad. I bought a Mav that had been sitting with very little use for over 8 years and had to replace the brake cylinders all the way around. When I took the car out for its test drive for the first time imagine my surprise when I went to hit the brakes. Luckily it was uphill going out of the owners driveway and i was able to stop.

Usually I am pretty resourceful at finding those kinda things. I called many parts stores, and it definetly seems like they aren't made any more. They did say they have rears, and they do have some for a 71, but no 70. They said worst case senerio, bring em in and they will match it to something that will work.

Here is a possible source for you brake hoses.
    Greens auto parts 800-565-1544.
There are two hoses listed depending on the build date of the car.
    Build date to 1/2/70....D0DZ-2078C-D.
    After 1/2/70.................D0DZ-2078E-F.
Give the number you need on the 800 line or there will be a toll call to look it up if needed.
71-73 and 74-75 are different Pn.
    Good luck.
    Ken

I called green sales and ordered there last one for a 70 mav they had one for the left side no right side. The hose cost me 55 dollars plus shipping spendy. I still cann't find another one for the right side.

So I'm forced to take the right one off and see if they can match one for it.

If anyone can find one let me know.

You could consider replacing the spindle / drum assembly with those from a 72 or possibaly check to see it 72 wheel cylinder would fit with its more previlant hoses. Somtime a more radical change is needed to get the car useable.

I know a industrial shop in Georgia that can make any hoses you may need. I use them for high pressure applications at work and they have made power steering and hoses for hydrolic systems set ups for me in the past. A ll I need is specifications and I can see if they will make up brake hoses.

Good idea for the 72. When I get some extra time I'll be going junk yard shopping and see if it does work. I'll let you know what happens.
