Mine is a 2012 grabber blue in basecoat/clearcoat. Ford paint code is CI, it's a little darker than the original single stage grabber blue.

Started in 1970 in a Maverick. Maybe sooner in a Mustang/Cougar?

1970 in the Mustang. My 1970 Fastback was one of the 70 Grabber Special Value package cars. Came in Grabber Blue. -Matt

    To the OP:

Grabber Blue and Competition Blue were the same colour, just a different name. It was common practice to give the Mercury colours a more "palatable" name to coincide with the Mercury image.

Always go by the Ford paint number or the PPG numbers. In 72, the Ford paint codes all went to alpha-numeric codes (3F for Grabber Blue).
