All those cars have one thing in common....they all look better than the Gremlin.

My sister had a Gremlin that I ended up with because she was too embarrassed to be seen in it. Gremlins are funny little cars though, it ran good and was fairly quick with that big six banger, it was definiteley no Maverick though.

    I've laughed at that before.

My cousin's parents had one back when we were young'ns. I remember that it
was a V8 but it was more like a Pinto inside to me-small.

I bet if they spun the Gremlin around, put it in the same profiles as the others, and made it red and black, it would look very similar too. You could take any one of those car, take a pic from a different angle, pick a different color, and make it bigger, and it would present a different story. The power of advertising.

My parents had both a Maverick and a Gremlin at the same time. There was no comparison. The Gremlin was 2 years newer and was a POS. My dad used it to just get to work. The back seat was tighter then a bulls ass as he would say when we tried to stuff us back there. It is like comparing a Honda Civic hatch-back to a Ford Focus sedan.

No matter what angle they take the picture, the Gremlin was still a goofy looking car. The engineers at AMC dropped a 1 ton weight on the roof and called it a Pacer. After that, they they hooked the Pacer up to a frame machine and kept pulling on both bumpers until it stretched back out. Then they called it a Madador. And from the front, they still looked alike. I'll bet there's a whole lot more Mavericks out there than Gremlins.:)

The Gremblin in that paticular ad looks pretty sporty....but the reality is that it is still a "nerdy" car. Has DORK written all over it.

why do they look the same?

because ford had it going on in the 70's......honestly i would rather have to push my maverick home from work than drive that gremlin to the corner market...

besided....have you seen gremlins driving around lately? no.?.... neither have I.

but i see one maverick every day...MINE....sometimes i get to wave at a passing maverick/comet.

I always liked the Gremlins. I always liked alot of the AMC stuff. Back when my Sprint was new, I raced a Gremlin X with the V8. I had a 200 with headers and split exhaust so he thought I had a 302. We stayed even till about 65 then he started walking away. He was pretty cocky back at the hangout after the race until I opened the hood.
