    55CrownVic ... that is an excellent solution. I was suggesting nutserts because I have seen some folks try to get away with just using sheetmetal screws, and with the vibration these go through, that doesn't last long. I should have been clearer there.

    Superman ... you're quite welcome. I was frustrated trying to use the mirrors where they were. It seemed I was always moving around trying to get a wider view.

    NC ... my mirrors are off of a Maverick. The angle that they would be referring to would be the base of the mirrors. The heads on these mirrors are all the same, but the base makes some models not work on other cars because the head would be tilted. 72 Torino mirrors are a great example ... on our cars they would end up not even close to horizontal.
