Think I figured out what the front end knock/banging noise that kept my car in the garage instead of Gathering.
After examining everything in suspension; discovered bolts from A-arm to tower were not tight enough. At least, I am relieved to know I don't have a castle nut loose or missing Carter pin.. All the guys said it was probably something simple - Glad they were right. I will post a few pic here from the Gathering soon as I have time to download from my camera.
Plenty of pic's on FB provided -- courtesy of Nick Dominick....

Glad to hear it was indeed something simple! After our adventure with Doug's car I think everyone is checking their front suspension bolts.

In Wyoming still a couple days from home. Been a hot trip as they are expecting record breaking heat in this area tomorrow but today most of the trip was 95 to 100. We stopped at a couple of tourist attractions and was more than ready to get back into a/c truck. I see that it is hot every where though so I feel your pain if you are stuck outside

Made it home safe and sound, had a few showers and thought we were going to get hit by a big storm but skirted around it. Got home to 60 degree weather, lots better feeling than the 100s

For anybody wondering about next years Gathering by popular demand it was voted to go back to Somerset Kentucky. This such a beautiful and friendly place to meet that those that have been there always want to go back, some people even go there when there is not an event just to hang out. I know we will be there

Home Sweet Home! Lauralea and I just got home. The Comet GT served its purpose to get me to two car shows up north and a family vacation down Route 66 on the way home. I've been away for 21 days. Total miles driven: 3931.

Doug, glad you and Lauralea had a safe and almost uneventful trip. 21 days away from home is along time but I it felt really good to be there. A couple more days rest and you will be ready to do it again.LOL. Route 66 is interesting I wish we would have had the book that you had when we did that way home We will get one before we do it next time. Have not totaled up our mileage but is close to 6,000 so that means we have put around 20,000 miles on the truck going to the Gatherings. But that is totally different than doing it in your Comet

I was just talking to the wife last night about this, I just imagine the same hotel will be used. At the 2016 Gathering we asked that the Hahn's not get so involved in activities but figure they will have something on the agenda.

I know I am looking forward to it as this year we dont have to be in a hurry as the wife is retiring in June

    Mike,
Looking forward to seeing you folks again. After making 12 trips of 1100 miles each during my move to Charlotte from Ocala, I kinda chilled on long trips this past year. Somerset is about 350 miles from here(6 1/2 hours), so it will be about half the distance from when I lived in Fl. I can also combine it with a visit to my sister's in my home town not too many miles up the road. It will be a great time !

When anyone knows anything, please start a new thread !

    Jim
