At least 10+ years ago my Brother sold his '74 Comet to someone here in Co. He was the original owner. Only had around 30k mi. I think. The car was better than showroom !! It got little use, and when it did, it was washed and waxed each time before it was parked in the garage. You could eat off the engine, it was that clean! Its a '74 , 2dr. with the 'Custom Option ' ? 250/auto ,bucket seats, floor mounted shift. Kinda of a bronze/brown color. I think the new owner is doin the same thing, sittin in a garage , coverd up. We've never seen it again:(

 no, I have no Maverick at this time,....I had a 1970 a few years back, had to park on the street, it got hit and run twice . First time was just a little fender damage. The second time they took out the door and quarter panel. I sold it to someone in Greeley CO. It was white with red int. 200/auto ...we had that car for 20 years, but I felt it would be cheaper to buy another rather than patch that one up......way back, when I lved in Ohio, I had a grabber and a '74 2dr with 3 on da tree,......now Im lookin to get another, I'll have to sell my cycle to do it........Da wife says" why the heck do ya want another Mav. ?" ....I just like 'em I guess:yup:

i know the maverick you are talking about. a father and his son built it while the son was in high school. i forget how but the son died shortly after. the father did have it for sale for a while, very nice car, but a little out of my price range.

i have seen a few 74 2dr comets here in denver. being a milkman and driving around all night leaves much to amuse yourself with.

Well just to let you know I have a 1974 mercury comet 2dr. It is a bronze/ goldish color, except I have a bench seat in the front and it is automatic. I bought it for $80 bucks up in Creede, CO. It ran great and nothing was wrong with the engine when I paid for it.

p.s. I probably will be selling it when I get the interior done.

wow, this was an old post !

anyway, it was prob. over 10 -12 years ago when my Bro sold it, he was the orig. owner. He was a fanatic (in a good way ) . every time the car got drivin', it was washed, waxed, and tucked away in his garage, it was prob cleaner than showroom !!!!! He would take it to car shows, people wouldnt believe him that it was a factory paint job,
he sold it and we never saw it again:cry:

2dr, auto, 250cu.in., bucket seats, AC
if ya see it, let me know !!!

many thanks, dave ( still Mav Shoping in CO )
