does anyone know how to try and find one of your old cars , I had a 1975 maverick in high school , I came across an old registration for it today and I wonder if it's still on the road .I checked the vin on this site and no luck , has anyone ever found one of there old cars , if so how did you do it ? At the time, I sold it because there was a 78 Monte Carlo that I wanted , I wish I would have kept the maverick it had come from Washington state and the body was spotless .
I did that with a 73 Duster I had after high school - I was friends with a township cop and he ran the VIN and it came back as "not registered in the continental United States" - Think it meant it was junked
...you would think it would have came back with the name of the last owner and when it was last tagged...
He told me before hand that he couldn't give me that info - just weather it was still registered or not
Washington will give you the last owners info, it's the only way to go through the lost title process if the paperwork is not available.
Before all the privacy laws, VA would print you a copy of each prior title(had to be in state), got a copy and contacted the original(I'm 2nd) owner of my Cobra Jet... Now, fat chance... I have original paper work for Comet, lady who bought it new was born in 1913... Will be the afterlife if I talk with her...
You never know? She maybe riding with you. Just think,, She was 59 years old and she bought a coupe instead of a sedan, and a Maverick before others.
