I was gonna go $10.00 on these .. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6763&item=2400519158&rd=1 Incredible ....
Yea, I saw those & they were at $10.50 for a few days. I really wanted them & figured I'd try & snipe them at about $20.00. The next thing I noticed was they were at $45.00 with a day remaining. Those two pieces couldn't have been more than $1.00 from the dealer. I have several used ones from the junk yard, but they get all boogered up when you try & remove them. If those are worth $46.00, then what does it make our cars worth???
Worth at least $4600 Ha, Ha!! I have been able to salvage some used ones. It works best to remove the entire wiper assembly to get them off without buggering them up. Easy to do when I go thru an entire car and part it out. Harder to do in a junkyard, unless you want to spend about 2 hours or more getting to everything to get it off.
I have one perfect one off my car - the other one was missing when I boguht it so I'll have to hit a junk yard ...
Of all the cars I have ever seen and taken apart, I have only seen them on the driver's side wiper. Don't know why.
Craig; I agree with you. I have a '71 Comet and a '73 Mav parts car, and they each have one on the driver's side, and none on the passenger side. Can't hurt to put them on both sides, I guess. What, exactly, are their functions, if not for just trim around the wiper openings? Earl
Someone was selling six grommets that the bottom pegs of a grill go into. This morning the bid was $60!!!!!
Interesting...I too have only observed them on the drivers side only. I thought it was just a coincidence until you guys mentioned it. My original paint car also only had only one on the drivers side. Additionally, I noticed that passenger side wiper pivot fits differently than the drivers side & it appears that the grommet won't fit into the passenger side.
Hmmm The Shop Manual implies that there is only one used per car. Looks like it may just go on the driver's side. Dan
Yes, they are. I bid on a part on E-bay, and each time I put in a bid, it was automatically upped by $1, each time. Seems very sneaky and disingenious. Kinda put me off of e-bay for good. If you can't win, or get a part for a decent price, why even bother? Earl
eBay I read about a software that a guy has designed that automatically bids for you (Up to your absolute limit and up to the last fraction of a second). I think it was called Bid Slammer! You "need not be present to win" lol
