9" upgrade

    Wht year / makes of cars will have a bolt in 9", granada?, installing in 74 mav, the versai is to hard to get but would love disc if not then will convert

    59 Ford custom or rancharo are direct bolt in ,they are about 1/2 or less wider if I recall.

    Many early Mustangs/Cougars will bolt in as well since the axle perches are located in the correct position, but the tube lengths are different.

    A Lincoln Versailles is an automatic disc brake 9 inch find but there are still Granada and Monarchs out there and some have 9 inch rears under them. Some are disc and some are drum. Some are 6 cylinders and some are V8's. No one has ever figured out which one of them got the 9 inch rear so look under all of them and you could get lucky. Mine 9 has disc brakes and came out from under a 6 cylinder Granada Ghia :1st:

    I've seen two 1980 Granadas with the drum 9 under them. I figure this was the last year for a 9 in the cars, so Ford might have been trying to use up stock.

    In 1981 the Granada/Monarch was built on the Fox platform so that might have had something to do with the 9 inch disappearing in 80

    Had a new 71 302 c4 2dr 1971.
    I used a 57 Ford 9 in. in my 71 Maverick it fit right IN I had to push my springs outboard and it didn't take much .
