I had somebody who wanted to buy my last used Grabber Hood. They really wanted to save money on shipping, so I suggested what I have done in the past to ship LARGE parts.....cut it in two.
I had a guy looking for the grabber hood scoop openings so he could graft them to the hood on his "other" car, didnt even think about cutting them out in case someone wanted to use them. Actually a neat idea.
would have been a shorter box by cutting it the other way... then again, looks like it may not have needed a box...
I actually sold him this hood. It had a hood scoop at some time in it's past. I actually had cut out the under structure and sold it separately as it was rust free. This left me just the top skin. I refused to throw it away...and I priced it at $50. The person that bought it is going to graft the scoops into a hood on a mid 1970's Ford truck. He sent me pictures of one he found on a Ford truck forum and it looked pretty good. So.....cutting it into smaller pieces was all he needed.
What kind of idiot would ask you to cut a large, hard-to-find piece of sheet metal in TWO?? LOL I dodged the bullet in the end, but good grief, it would have been so much cheaper to pay for the extra shipping cost. Live and learn...
After cutting you could add a hinge down center so could open only one side, like on 30s & 40s cars...
But in hind-sight, likely worth every penny! LOL I still appreciate you making the effort to get this piece to me. It saved my car! Thanks Again!!
