I know, been working with you all along on that. I did not follow what you are talking about as far as machining a wedge.
yeah i was originally thinking i could make something to put where the fuel is leaking. like a wedge that curves around the shaft that holds the valve in place. so it would still open and close but fuel wont come out. sorry if something i say dosent make too much sense. im not a seasoned mechanic in any sense! Thanks again
OK - now I get it ....... What you want is a knurled bushing for your throttle shaft. It is how a carb repair shop freshens up a worn shaft hole. They look like the picture below. The shaft hole in the carb housing is drilled out a bit and these get pressed in - making a perfect shaft again. They come in all different sizes to match the shaft diameter. If you have an old school carburetor repair shop in your area, they can do it for you. Kind of a dying art in this day and age of replace instead of repair. I would think someone could be found to do this repair in Hemmings. Lots of special restoration people still advertise there.
that looks like it could work ill check out hemmings and see if someone would be able to do it! thanks again so far!
Just a quick Google search came up with this place in Winnipeg - I saw in an earlier post you are from there. Called Paul's Carburetor Service. It says they have been in business 39 years. I bet they can fix her up like new for you. https://www.bbb.org/manitoba/busine...pauls-carburetor-service-in-winnipeg-mb-13237 Hope this helps!
