Hi everyone. Has anybody put frame connectors on their mav or comet? If so where did you get them and how difficult was it? Also where is anyone buying their traction bars from? Thanks .

I built my own connectors, I wanted something that tucked up tight so I went through the floors with them. For traction bars, Caltracs seem to be a favorite, no idea where everyone is getting them.

I have a set of universal Summit Racing connectors that are welded to the sub-frame. The emergency brake cables run between the connectors and the body.

I also have CalTracs bars installed. It is my experience that unless you are racing competitively, your Comet will not require any traction aids. My Comet produces almost the same 60' times with or without the CalTracs. No wheel hop in either case.

Here they are ; CHASSIS ENGINEERING - PART NO.# C/E 3645 $99.50 ( Don't go by the picture on the website , it's just a generic photo) .. We just installed two sets of these onto two Mavericks . Great Fit , minimal grinding and fitting issues. I recommend them . I've driven one of the cars since installation and there is a distinct improvement.
Chassis Engineering = Riveria Beach ,FL 561-863-2188 . Hope this help.

Yep ! I'll post some next week . We've installed them on a 70 , and a 72 Maverick . Great Fit , with very minor grinding on edges . We thoroughly cleaned the area where the welds would be placed as they were fitted to insure a very solid weld . Came out pretty good and we've driven the 70 Maverick with positive results. Improved handling and NO wheel hop ! Haven't driven the 72 yet , it has a 331 stroker and a lot more 'steam' so we'll see how they perform on that one.

Here are my home made connectors, I'm planning on a slightly lower stance so I wanted ground clearance.

I wish I had rotisserie, it was propped up on 2x6 on each end and one across the door hinges. Beat the heck out of laying on my back scraping undercoat off!
