I have been working with a company and I am now excited to announce that these parts are now available: The two rods needed for the factory floor shift automatic.

If you want to install a factory floor shifter in your Maverick/Comet, finding the rods that go to the transmission and column were almost impossible to find….until now.

These rods are manufactured by Kickdown Rods Galore & more.

    Here is what they manufacturer/sell:

    1. 1971-1977 Ford Maverick/Mercury Comet Automatic Trans Shift Rod, -NEW REPRO, FLOOR SHIFTER CARS ONLY.
An exact reproduction of hard to find 1971-1977 Maverick Automatic Transmission Shift Rod that goes from the shifter to the transmission.

A note from the company owner:
I have gone to every possible degree to assure that this part is accurate in every detail when compared to the OEM....It was repro'd using an original set of rods supplied by an MCCI member. As with all my parts, the highest possible quality of workmanship has gone into this part. Purchase with confidence. These parts are MADE IN AMERICA with Pride by an American Craftsman and U.S. Military Veteran.

Added it to my Watch List on eBay.

When we put my shifter in the car, I took two Pinto shifter rods, cut them to a length where the two pieces would work, and my buddy welded them together. He was muttering about hating welding wrought iron and worrying it would stay together. He did a good job, but getting the right piece still sounds like a great idea. Hoping I placed the shifter in the right spot on the tunnel .... good thing there is a long slot for shifter adjustment.

Thanks for your help getting this done Craig.
