I received an interesting e-mail today requesting more info on Stallions and whether I still owned mine. Someone wants to buy one. This is another example of the fact that Mavericks are becoming more desirable and more are looking to own them. This guy is going to have to offer quite a pile of money to get mine!
Stallion popularity Wes, Yeah, your're right, and that is kind of cool. You hold onto your Stallion! The sad thing is, "someday" I too would like to own a Stallion again, but not because of a "good investment" but because of sentimental value (that was my first car). I'm afraid that the envirement is going to become too rich for my blood, and I'll never have the capital, or be able to find the car of my dreams. I would even be happy with a Stallion clone, and I'm sure that is what I'll have to settle on if I can ever pull it off. Selling that car was just one of the many mistakes I've made over the years. Take care Wes, and hold onto that Stallion....
Is that a good thing? I have been pretty big in the Go Kart racing scene a while back, and they used to be very very cheap raceing. Now a engine costs $1500+ and thats for a modified TILLER ENGINE. Every body wanted kart raceing to get more publicity and stuff, well they got their wish and now people are haveing to quit because the prices are getting outrageous. http://4cycle.com I'd hate to see the same thing happen with these cars.
This is basically a fact in the collectible car market. especially of late. While the base Mavericks haven't gone up in value in a major way, the less available ones like Grabbers, Sprints, and Stallions seem to have more so. All the Mavs have increased in value at least 25% over the last several years. It is supply side economics, whether we approve or not. I think more of us will approve than disapprove.
I would sooner sell my Honda and pick-up and walk to work and catch a bus before I ever let my Maverick go. I would make it make it my daily driver before it ever came down to it.
I've noticed a big jump in maverick prices here within the last year. When I got my 70 I used to look around on ebay for some odds and ends and the highest price I ever saw on a mav was a little over $1000. Now you look at ebay and DECENT cars are going for $3-4000. Its crazy! Its a good thing, yet bad at the same time. Its good cause our cars are comming out of the shadows a little. Its bad because I won't be able to pick up the "mom&pop" car for pretty cheap now. -Harry
