Interior window crank question

    I recently purchased some new interior window cranks for my 71 including the knob. The knob comes with what I am calling a "screw" used to attach the knob to the handle. But it's not threaded but seems to have barbs on it...like what you might see on a gas line fitting. Are you supposed to press this "screw" on?

    If you are talking about the window cranks, the knobs press onto the barbed stud.

    Doh! Yes I meant to say window cranks not door handles...geez!

    Easy to do with a padded vise. Just presses in.
    There is a wavy washer that sets the proper spacing and keeps tension on the knob so it doesn't rattle.
