I just picked up my first Maverick, a 1974 all original. In great shape other the rusted out in front and behind the doors. Kind of surprising as it has a documented 37,000 miles only. I got a lot of reading to do as I want to stuff my extra 351w turbo motor in there and install rack and pinion steering, 8.8 foxbody axle and tubular k-member suspension if anything is available on the cheap.

These cars don't have a removeable K member like Fox chassis, all welded construction...

yes, I guess cheap is not the right word, how about a "budget build"

Make sure the rust hasn't creeped into the frame and torque boxes.

It's weird with the rust areas on the body because the floor and frame look okay. I will get it up on my hoist and have a better look once I get some room. I will be posting more in this forum once my notch is completed and I get started with the Maverick build.

Hi, its been a few months now, I have my build well under way. Problem now is trying to keep a 351w efi under the stock hood as this current intake is way to tall. 20180106_112729.jpg 20171221_133502.jpg 20180101_164447.jpg
