What car would have wheels I could use? For example, going to a junkyard and trying to find some steel wheels. I currently have 14 inch wheels. This car could stand to have 15 inch wheels with a hair more width, although I'm ok with putting the same size on. The ones I have now are really rusty. I just don't trust their strength. The car being parked in the yard is one thing, going down the road is another, with bumps and speed and whatnot.

I would have to say that I have never seen wheels so rusty that I would not trust their strength. Can you post up a picture?

Agreed, unless they resemble flaking tree bark, I doubt they have strength issue...

Media blast them, I'm not seeing a structural issue. Unfortunatly ford went to a 4 x 4.25" or 4 x 108 mm pattern with Pintos Mustang II's and late model mustangs, Mavericks, Falcons and early Mustangs use a 4 x 4.5", so I don't think you will have much luck finding a 15" rim.

There are a few really deep pits on all the wheels. I was hoping to be able to find wheels from a more modern Ford or some other that would fit. I think I'll keep the same size because I want my wheel covers to fit.

Many imports used a 4x4.5 - which they called a 4x114.3 because of the metric sizing. Just be careful of the backspacing and offset for the front wheel drives. The mini trucks and vans might yield some usable wheels in 15".
