I was wondering, as many of you probably did, on what to do with the old 6cyl engine, when doing the I6 to V8 swap. Well I thought maybe I'd throw it on eBay and see what happens. I had the whole 200, C4, radiator, hoses, driveshaft, ect. in one package with a starting bid of $150. I would have been happy with that if somebody bought it. I almost fell out of my chair when it closed at $432 I pulled the 200 - C4 out, and the guy came to get it Friday. You will never guess where it is gonna end up! He is putting it into a ski hill grooming machine! I thought it might be a little underpowered, but he said it should be fine with the low gearing. All he would need to do is modify the oil pan and pickup for the extream angles that they run on the slopes. The Maverick motor will live on for a long time I hope.
Who would have guessed you could get that much out of an old boat anchor. I can't usually give old engines away. Nice Job!
Mine has been sitting outside uncoverd for 3 years:16suspect I should have put it on Evilbay:evilsmile
One never knows what will happen on ebay. I was thinking about giving away some old Mustang Center Caps I had laying around, but put 'em on ebay for the heck of it. They're up to $76 now and the auction hasn't ended. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&rd=1&item=7954436171&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Glad to see you make some cash back on your engine too. Great story.
I sold my 200 to a guy who put it in a trailer mounted weld machine. His had so many hours on it that it finally gave up the ghost. He came by about a month ago and there it was purring like kitten.Actually sounded kind of mean because he had some real low restriction muffler on it.I got $350.00 for it,which I thought was pretty good.Gave my 3-speed syncromesh to a friend who is putting it into a 63 Fairlane. Now he can down shift to first without stopping.
it should ......evidenced by the '55 (i think) Ford 9N tractor my dad still uses today ..... Robert but a maverick on skis ...... who woulda thunk
