Been happening more and more often, sometimes much worse than others. Like today is downright horrible. Not my connection or software/equipment either, happens on multiple devices.. at home and away.

Too many redundant backups? Slow server equipment/speeds?

Considering larger multi-platter HDD's are getting dirt cheap, ever consider a 4 or 5 disk disk raid 5 or 10 arrangement?

My problems with it are late at night or early in the morning for you east coast people, around 10 pm pst, sometimes I just give up, but I live out in the boondocks and just figure it is too many people using the internet in my area at that time. Only one provider for services

Stefan can explain it better - but the servers are getting very full. He is looking into the options for improvement.

I know he appreciates all the supporting members that help pay to get the needed bandwidth and server space. :tiphat:

Thanks for the quick reply Eric. Makes much more sense now. Platter based HDD's slow to a crawl and fragment all to hell when too full. Bigger hot swappable and expandable raid arrays can help a lot.

I am aware of the situation. Server is maxed out... Tried to transfer the site over the weekend but ran into issues with the new server.
