Really looks good,I like the air cleaner. Are you going to put the snorkles on or leave them off? I had intentions of using the same type of housing, but decided to go with a 3X2 carb. set-up.One thing I would point out on the turndowns in front of the axle,my son put a set ( he called them dumps ) on our 95 Mustang GT.I drove down to Cherry Point NC to see him and when I got to Raleigh NC I started smelling burnt brakes.I pulled over and the rear pads were destroyed.I limped into Cherry Point and the following morning found a really nice garage to look at them. The guy said he has seen it before, apparently if you run long and hard at speed the heat from the dumps will start to heat up your rear brake lines on the housing causing the brake fluid to expand which drags the brakes till they are wiped out.I had to replace the rotors and pads.I don't know if drums would be affected as bad or not.Just a heads up.You may not drive your Maverick like I was pushing the Mustang.Again, you did a really nice job.
I had to cut the snorkles off at 3 inches, they wouldn't clear the shock towers. I plan on hooking something up with the hood scoop later. I had them put the turn downs on until I could figure out how I want the tail pipes bent, not sure if I want them out the back or peeking out the rear quarters. Bad news I think I have a lower end rattle at about 2800-3000 rpm, I thought it was my fan making noise but I took it off and it still rattles when you step on the peddle. I'm gonna try some heavier oil I'm running 10-30 as a break in oil, any suggestions? Thinking of 20W50
