New Vendor??

This company indicates they have reproduction parts for Mavericks/Comets such as dash pad and other items I've not seen anywhere else. I know nothing of this company, quality of or the products they claim to have. I am curious if anyone here has purchased any of the parts shown?

We published an article in our November/December 2018 issue of our newsletter about this company and their products. Many MCCI State Reps as well as the officers were contacted by this company. The newsletter editor called and talked to a representative of this company and the conversation was reflected in the article. Bottom line.....we know of nobody who has really seen their products first hand. We do know of one member who ordered some products from them and they are going to report back to us when they get them and let us know about the quality, fit, finish, etc.

 

Thanks Craig. Daniel Carpenter asked me to call the owner and speak with him. I left several messages for him and spoke to his secretary, never got a reply so I decided to not help him.
I am interested in the feedback the MCCI member reports back.

 

Very interesting products for our Maverick 's and Comet's

 

I have friend that is making a clone Shelby GT H Mustang and he has been to their shop and purchased parts from them and told me long ago that they were going to get into Maverick parts and the owner wanted to have a conversation with me he also gave me a catalog with very limited parts they were offering at the time ( this was almost 2 years ago) since then the parts they are offering has doubled in size and has parts that nobody else has offered which makes me a little leery due to the fact that it takes a lot of money to set up for a product that may or may not sell and I would think other distributors would have a line on it as well

My friend told me that it was a small mom and pops shop and the owner was very friendly. More power to them if they can provide people with needed parts I hope that they come through with what they have to offer, many other vendors have the sheet metal parts but the other items they offer is what interests me more

It does not speak well that they did not return BKelley's call

 

Did anybody buy their dash pad yet?

 

I'd like to know too. I really don't like to gamble any more than I have to. lol

To me this place seems more like a shop that's "feeling out" the demand for some obscure and desirable parts that are currently unavailable repops. I think if those reproduction dash pads were the real deal and readily available shelf items it would be a very well known by now.

Either that or they have downright horrible PR and marketing to invest resources in something and then carelessly keep it a secret?

 

I am considering trying to contact them and work out a deal on some parts. They have a few things that I am definitely interested in.

 

I had a chance to lay eyes on there dash pad in person while they were at a local swap meet here in California, in my opinion it resembles a cap more then a replacement pad, the only mounting I saw underneath was the two corners and a single center nut. The pads are made after order is received and was told it would take up to 3-4 weeks before the pad ships

 

Good deal.. crossed this off my list of to-do's.. called them and spoke with the owner/mgr for a few minutes. He sounds stretched thhhiiiinnnn with all his various business ventures, I get it.. only so many hours in a day and life is short. Supposedly kind of inhereted and took on the Maverick stuff after coming from a Mustang supply background for last 30 years but sounds and looks like decent quality repop type stuff. Say's it's all USA fabricated so they control quality over the crappy quality chinese knockoffs. This reminds me of and gives a more Brazilian type repop vibe.

Will post dashpad pic's and material construction details when I get the sent pic's off my phone later on. Shipping per unit is $62 bucks. Assuming it arrives in one piece, seems reasonable for the packaged length.

Apologies for delay.. tough to find time lately but here they are. Supposedly has a molded glass shell with some type of padding and wrapped with marine grade vinyl. Looks to be extruded aluminum mounting tabs with some really nice hardware too.









Personally speaking, I like that there may be some potential slight weight reduction, however little loss that may be because my car will be all about power/weight. $300+ is lots of dough to shell-out for a MAYBE pound or 2 difference though and my build is far from that level of refinement at this point. I'd likely just repair cracks and recover my existing pad. Seems like good deal for major damaged pad replacements, otherwise I'm just not totally sure without laying eyes and hands on it.

 

Doesn't look too bad. Are there any tabs for the sides?

 

I'm not too sure a molded glass shell would hold up very well, as it would have to be thin to keep the pad from sitting to high?...
