Is there a aftermarket wiring harness for 1974 maverick? My old wires are a bit "crusty" at the enginebay and I would like to get new ones. Is someone making them?

If you want to remove your wiring and send to this company, they will use yours as a pattern and send you back factory correct wiring harnesses :

Be warned, its not cheap! Hope this helps.

Thanks ! I will quote for their prices.

Other option is to make a "wiringboard" myself and try to do it at own garage. How that will work...well, probably not so good :D

Question : Does it have a socket there where the wires comes thru the firewall or just does it just go thru on to the fusebox? It does have somekind of rubber there...

That's the firewall connector, fuse panel on driver side plugs into it, a bolt holds it in place. I'd guess for a one off build, duplication of just that feature would make a new harness cost prohibitive.

Mustang and Torino used similar connector(s) but no doubt fuse panel pinout would be different.

I'll compare the under dash Maverick & Torino connectors.

BTW when I restored the under hood of my Comet, I removed harness and all plastic lacing, then retaped it with a low gloss electrical tape. Came out better than I expected.

    Thanks for the info!
I think I need to take the harness out and check how bad or good it is. If there is only couple of issues, I can fix them and make a new taping on it, like you did.

Check Green Sales. I picked up a beautiful NOS harness for around $50.

Sorry, different ones for different years. They can look it up if you email them. Search your harness. Maybe it is still there. Isn't there an on line parts manual somewhere? I thought I recall seeing one but don't have a link.

The one I got was for a standard model. I modified it into a Grabber, dual horn option and added relays for the headlights and the grill mounted Lucas driving lights.
