Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that a "new" option is available for "regular" Maverick/Comet hoods. I contacted Graphic Express about the "Sprint Style" dual hood stripes and asked if they could be ordered in a single color. Dan from Tech Services got back to me right away and said they would make it available, and then proceeded to make the change to the website immediately. Now it has a drop down selection box with ALL the vinyl colors available, very cool. So everyone with "non-Grabber" hoods, we have a new option to dress up our cars....

I finally decided to "pull the rigger" on body stripes. I been thinking about them for some time now. If all goes well, going to have my car painted this fall. May as well, get the things I know will be needed to "get her done".
Thanks for the link -- best price I've seen so far...

Very cool. Always liked that stripe design and now it can be coordinated to match the side stripes.

That is exactly what I'm planning on doing once I get my car a re-painted. I want to put black grabber stripes (without the Grabber lettering) on the side and this now available stripe kit (which I think will match very nicely) on the hood....

Below is how my car sits "now", but I think the striping will take it up a few levels....

That'll surely tie it all together and look awesome with all the black vinyl! What's your plan with the side mouldings? Delete/fill? Or remove, stripe, reinstall?

Very nice clean stock looking car, btw. The stripes will surely "sport" it up and can't wait to see the final product. Good luck with everything!

I'll remove the side molding and the upper pinstripe, as well as the wheel well moldings to "clean things up" before the repaint & new stripes....

Got it. Didn't realize you were going that extent. That paint looks damned good from my office chair! lol

Overall, it does still look pretty nice (mostly original paint). However, the paint itself has gotten really "brittle" and chips super easy. The front of the hood and near the bottom of the wheel wells is covered with lots of "touch ups", something I'm constantly doing. So I'd like to have it re-done with a nice modern base coat-clear coat paint. And that's when I'll put the stripes on to ad a little more "sport" to the look of the car...
