On this 70 f100 302 I'm refreshing for my swap....

I ordered new valve springs as its easy and I can learn how to do more. I ordered stock ones for said engine. Stock on the stock heads are single springs. The one the parts store ordered are double springs. Is this ok to use still? I dont like that the inner thin spring is so close to the new valve seals. Can I pull the inner spring out and run it or should I use as is?

The inner should remain in place, supposedly dampen valve train harmonics. Not really required on stiff aftermarket springs for high lift cams.

Is it an inner spring or damper? Do the springs fit in the seat in the head? If I were you I'd find a set of gt40 iron heads. Generally only a couple hundred dollars and will make a lot more power. Also one thing I'm going to do to my stock 302 this winter is 1.7 roller rockers arms.

Yes they fit in the seat. Just don't want the valve seals to get ripped. I may be worrying over nothing as this is the first time ive seen these type.

Also as far as gt40 heads....ill skip it. This is just a refresh of an 80k mile 302 to tie me over until I can get the 347....tougher trans...and gear vendors unit in about 5 more years.

Just trying to get a v8 back under my foot as I miss it and I despise this 200cid. The sound doesnt match the looks of my car lol.
