    Getting ready to purchase wheels and tires. I would like to run a 15 x 9 or 15 x 10 275 /60/15 or 28 10.5 15 . I am not crazy about putting that wide of a tire on a 8 inch wheel.

I have calvert racing split mono leafs +1 inch ..... 9 inch 57.50 wide about 1/2 inch wider on each side than stock . I have trimmed and rolled fender lips and removed the snubber inside wheel well. The car will be a street /strip 500 to 600 hp windsor /C4 powered .My thought is if 15 x 8 with 4 inches of backspacing with a stock 56.5 wide rear end works , then a 9 or a 10 inch wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing should be fine, I tried the plastic wheels and tire simulator and it should be fine. Dose anyone have this set up or something similar. I would like to buy the wheels once . I sure you guys are getting tired of answering these type of question, but any help would be very helpful.

I am running 15x10” wheels w/4.5” bs. Will measure flange to flange on the 8.8 in the car. Car currently has 10.5x28 slicks, but will be mounting 275/60-15 Hoosier drag radials tomorrow, which have slightly less section width. Very tight fit with that tire, same leafs you are running, fender lip rolled, and snubber trimmed back.

I ran 275 /60/15 on 8" rims with a stock 8" rearend...no fender roll no rubbing on stock leaf springs.

    I'd run at least a 9 inch rim with a 275 tire.
It will be a challenge to get the backspace in the sweet spot between rubbing leafspring/frame rail, and the body. You will want at least a 4", and maybe 3-3/4" backspace.

Mike had 10" on his mav with rolled fenders and suggested the 8" for mine. the 8" sucked the sidewall in and stood the tire up straighter... worked for me.

The car tends to be more stable at high speed with a wide rim and low pressure on drag tires.

10” wheel on 275/60 drag radial or slick basically has the bead and tread inline with one another.

the Futura GLS Super Sport 275x60x15 does the same on an 8" rim.

Every 275 I've ever seen on an 8-inch rim had the sidewalls sucked in. Should really go with the rim width that the tire manufacturer recommends for the size of the tire.

Okay, and like I said, the sidewalls will suck in on a 8 inch rim, which is why I suggested 9 inch.
You gotta do what makes you happy though.

So I’ve got a 9” in the Maverick bolted to the original leaf springs however, the rear was cut just enough fit in place. I can measure tomorrow if needed. I am running MT Sportsman SR 28x12x15 with an ET Fueler 15x10 with a 4 3/4 bs. Got about 1/4” to play to the leaf bracket and haven’t had any problems yet.
