I am stumped on my bumper swap. There are a couple of problems I have run into. 1: I feel like the rear fiberglass bumper I bought is not wide enough? 2: I’m in need of measurements for the rear bracket holes. I bought all my stuff online and did not have a donor car. 3: I do not have the inner rear brackets, the ones that get welded in. Do I need those if the bumpers are fiberglass? They are pretty light. 4: I do not have bumper fillers, which isn’t a big deal but would be nice to have to be complete. I have done research on here looking for the measurements and found a few for the front bracket holes, but could only find before and afters or someone saying measure from a donor car. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
This is as far as it will come up. I have pictures showing where it touches the body . I did check out that page. I see holes. But what are their actual positions?
Your bumper does look 3 inches short on both ends. Looks like the new holes are directly above the old ones. If you need exact measurements I can get them off my buddy’s parts car, but it will take me several days to make it over there.
I just measured my Comet, measurement from V to V in top of bumper is 65". Has end caps and spoiler from a Grabber, fit is perfect. I'm thinking your's is not a Maverick bumper.
I wouldn’t mind having the exact measurements. I can see they are straight up, but what’s their height? And the holes are a little further apart too. I guess it is possible this is not a Maverick rear bumper, but it came with a Maverick front. So I would hate to have wasted the money. Are there people who can fix fiberglass bumpers?
First off......NOT a Maverick bumper and it is way too low. Second.....I would not but a fiberglass bumper on a street car.
In many states you aren't allowed to have a fiberglass bumper on a street car without some other bumper bar in place to back it up.
Obviously you are in need of a bumper stretcher & V tightener. I doubt these are part of Auto Zone's tool loaner program.
Sweet!!! I bet you didnt have to scratch your head at all to get that bolted up versus that other thing.
