Although I've never run Webers, the part I've always heard about (mostly from those who've never touched them) the synchronization is likely BS. I had no problems setting up my 3 twos or the two 4s' (on my 427) Those carb pads look like they're sitting on a common plenum so there's really nothing to worry about in synchronizing them as far as A/F mixtures. The linkage would likewise be pretty easy to get em hooked up right. That you do before ever firing it up. The hard part is the $$$ outlay. Once you have them set, they should stay that way for years, if Webers are anything like Holleys. Multiple carbs got their bad rep back when everything had points ignition, it wasn't the carbs getting out of whack, it was the constantly changing dwell angles with the points wearing. Doubly so with a dual point distributor and their stiffer point springs. I tried a dual point dizzy in my 427 for a few months once, it ran no better than a single point with a good set of points and an Accell Super coil. The extra set of points was really only needed for high rpms. Anything under 6500, it wasn't needed. I'm running a stock Duraspark in my 331. No problems with it up to 7 grand.

See, someone brighter than I set me straight. Actually they are not on a common plenum, they each go straight to a head port. Webers would still work, right? When I was dream wheeling about this I thought of having a plate made to mount a supercharger but that would have to be a different engine build.

LOL. I looked up Weber carbs and someone's got em listed on Amazon (all 4 in stock for $400:thumbs2:) and Walmart. Cheap too. But their bolt pattern's different than what you have. Maybe Stromberg or Rochesters. Have to look those up.

Got to be Rochesters. Strombergs have a three bolt pattern.

I always figured that I would have to get adapters made to install Webers. It would certainly look exotic under the hood of a 'lowly' Maverick.

Local guy with a big block has independent runners with four 2-barrels, don't know what kind. Could never get them to run right with the wide rpm range needed on the street. Finally sold the carbs for ridiculous money and bought EFI lookalikes. Problem solved.

I'll bet the carbs combined were likely too big. All too common problem with those who don't understand what makes them tic.

That 4 deuce intake looks like it would take the 3-1/4" x 1-7/8" small base Rochester carbs. - Matt

Out of curiosity I just measured the stud holes and they are 2 11/16" x 3 7/8". At one time I was looking at Mikuni 2 barrel carbs but didn't pursue it. Where would I find this type of information for different makes and models of carbs? And what brand was the efi look a likes, bmcdaniel?

    Thanks,
    Bruce

Those look awesome and what I envisioned for this intake if I ever use it. Right now I'm satisfied with the dual quads and the next step of my project - chassis (four link & tubs) and interior work.
