Correct type linkage

Between the 2 of these which is the correct linkage? Mine fell off while I was driving today... Glad it was at the top of the hill not in the middle.
From the one I recovered in the road it looks most like the black one. but maybe that's why it fell off. I only ask because the looped one is described as the ford one while the black one is described as the GM one.

 

No one knows?

 

All the Fords I’ve had were like the gold one.

 

I’m pretty sure it’s the second. That’s the same one I had in an original setup and also the same/similar as the one I had on my 70 Mustang with 351.

 

I've seen the first and some similar to second but not exactly like it.

Most Fords have a stud that opening in first linkage will fit over. BUT apparently v8 is similar to second, rod is id as 7521.

Thanks for replying. Sounds like either will work. I think I am getting the 2nd one.

 

Heads up the bottom one was not long enough. Reused part of the first one to get the length right.
