I have a 1976 Maverick Stallion, and 85 More Mavericks and Comets in Inventory.
Back in 2006, I was Looking For a Clean Rear Clip To Repair My 71 Comet GT,, I Searched the Net for Months on and Off, Then I got a E-Mail From a Guy in New York up by the Finger Lakes that said He Knows where he can Get me a Car almost Rust Free,, sat in a Barn for Years,, and Just Might Fit the Bill for what I need. He sent me his Address and Information,, I then Asked a Good Friend of Mine, If I could Use his Flatbed Tow Truck with a Stinger lift on the Rear.
My Father and I Drove out after Work on a Friday and Got to a Town Near By Named Horse Heads, Got a Room and Had Enough Time to Grab a Burger and Beer at a Local Bar, Before Bed. Next Day we Drove up to a Private Field with Cars about a Mile Back off the Road,, Wondering what was up,, was on the Mind,, No Cars and Driving deeper into the Mountains off the beaten Path,, More of a Steven King Movie then a Car Buy. Finally a Field Came into View,, This Guy Had Classic cars all over the Place,, He Explained New York changed laws,, If anyone can see the cars,, You have a Problem,, So he Picked the Far Back away from Everyone and Everything,, Lol. I was Impressed ,, We Ended up Buying this Weird Looking Maverick, with a Horse on the Fender,, a few Engines for other Classic Cars We Had,, and Parts to a 51 Ford Pick up truck. I Think I paid Like $500. for the Stallion from the Field,, I did Get a Title as well Signed and Opened. All of My Years Owning Mavericks and Comets,, I had never seen this Color Combo, Nor what it even Meant.
Poking around on here Talking to a few People Like Craig, Ray, and Mavoholic , and a few others,, said Get a Marti Report it could be a Find,, So I did the Marti Report and Talked to People at Ford in Detroit, I had already started Making Parts for the Mavericks and Comets,, and I Began here, Releasing the New Parts Because We also Could not Find a Darn Thing for the cars.
OK,, My Rear Clip is Extremely Rare and in its Configuration,, Just might be one of just a few Surviving. I called Back to New York,, asked the guy,, Where did that Car come from and where is the Engine and all the other stuff taken off of it,, He was Not Sure but said Give him a few Days. about 10 Days Had Gone by,, and I get a Call, Here the Guy that had the car Scrapped,, had all the other stuff in the barn,, They Planned on fixing it,, and Started taking it apart,, and Never messed with it again,, So Off To New York that weekend and I spent $750 For all the Remaining Parts,, This Car Has 5,214 actual Miles on it,, I Thought maybe it had Went around once,, Nope,, It was a New Car,, Owner had it just over a week,, Lived in Georgia,, Goes Every Year to New York Fishing with his Bud,, Discovered the Thing called Black Ice,, and Slipped into a Tree.
I Now have a Valuable Car,, So The Only way to do it is The Right way,, NOS RT Apron assembly and Frame Rail From Green Sales,, Anything that was Bent or Damaged was Purchased NOS,, So after 13 Years, of Collecting Parts, digging and Looking for Exact Matching factory Produced Parts with Propper Date and Time Codes,, Here we are.

I am absolutely Slammed With Restoration Work on Mavericks and Comets,, But I do Hope This Year She Rolls out,, We are That Close,, and I wanted to Share a few Photos here. This is Where it all Began.

    Joe
