Anyone use steele rubber before? I talked to my glass guy today and he said that if you truly do not want the glass to leak and want a perfect fitting rubber than go with the steele rubber products. I previously used precision rubbers which turned out to be garbage. I am just wondering if it is worth the extra cost, a D/C front window rubber is $60 vs a steele rubber which is $173...
I could be mistaken, but I think only one manufacturer makes weather stripping for Mavericks for all distributors...
I can't speak to what is made by whom …… but I have used Steele Rubber items before and they were top shelf in quality. They have a huge catalog of products.
Good to know, I don’t want this thing to leak so I am willing to pay the extra money if the quality is worth it.
I just checked with Steele online chat with customer service - they DO NOT make the windshield gasket - they get it from Dennis Carpenter
Glad I could help - Steele is still a very good company - but I would think the Dennis Carpenter seal should be less than $100 delivered
If you go through restoration parts source it’s around $60. They have by far the cheapest prices and it is all DC seals.
Looks like a good deal. The Daniel Carpenter in your link threw me off a second, as I always dealt with Dennis Carpenter. But according to NPD they are the same company. Dennis = https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/
That always confused me also, I have bought many things from dennis carpenter before such as the instrument cluster lens. I didn't realize for awhile that they were the same company.
Dennis carpenter is the father and Daniel carpenter is the son btw. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/about-us
