Hi, my name is Mark and last fall I bought a friend's project 74 Comet to be my new drag car. I've got a fair amount of work ahead of me this spring/summer getting it ready for the track, but I'm a school teacher so I've got all summer to wrench. I have a bit of experience converting street cars to drag as I've done a 76 Mustang II and an 80 Mustang so I'm not expecting too many problems. After all it's an era, a manufacturer and a goal that I feel I understand pretty well. So I bought this thing and stored it in the garage of a house I rent out without really looked at it properly yet. I was keeping up with my friend's build, inspecting jobs individually as he completed them, but I haven't given it a full look over as if it was my car yet so I'm itching to do that soon. I think that's why I signed up here, so I can get a feel for what's unique about these cars and know ahead of time what's in store for me with this build. Until then I'm hoping to both learn from experienced members and help out those I can. I'll prob do a build thread as soon as I pull it out in March/April.
