I think those are just for alignment. Simple install just remove the T Handle, Remove the Bezel and R&I the new seal.

They have nothing to do with alignment. They just seal
the area in and around the handle below the shifter
bezel. They are held on with little metal push clips available
at hardware or body supply shops.
I think they are metal covered in rubber.

They keep your light from shining up the shifter handle.

Yer right Seth, took it apart tonight. Wouldn't you know Mustangs Unlimited sent me the wrong size seal.. Man how I wish ther was a parts mag for 70-77 mav/comets only! They would have made a mint off me by now.

    There is.
    Order one here:

    www.autokrafters.com
They are a little higher than most Mustang
supply houses and their shipping prices suck.

Seal is the same as '69-'73 A/T shifter seals I believe.

Yea I think that is the right part Seth, thanks. But I still have to go through the mustang parts to get what I need. I forgot all about AutoKrafters.

Do you remember if the one in this link (for 69-73 must/cougar) is the one you got? I bought the one for 64-68 and it'd too small. Thanks.

ray http://www.autokrafters.com/mainframe.html ...sorry link goes to home page instead of product.
