im trying to find someone who sells new collectors for the exhaust mandifolds,i plan to buy the new hi-po manifolds but i exhaust guy said i need to bring the collectors ,they dont keep those in stock anymore, can anyone point me in the right direction
There are no collectors. There's a ball flange in the pipe with a two bolt bracket to tighten it against the manifold. My guess would be to look to one of the classic Mustang venders for the brackets to fit those manifolds. The exhaust shop should be able to make the pipe flange on their pipe bending machine. Try CJ pony parts, they list a pair of flanges and starter pipes from JBA that might work. MustangsUnlimited showed zilch.
Sounds to me like he needs the flanges for the pipe ends that slip over the studs on the manifolds. BTW, those hipo manifolds aren't that great. I saw a dyno test one time where they changed from those manifolds to long tube headers and gained over 70 hp...

A machine shop could probably get some dimensions from your manifolds and make a pair of flanges pretty cheap.
thanks for the help i ordered a set from O'reilly parts store they will lbe here tommorrow gonna see if those work
i have checked with all surrounding muffler shops in my area no one keeps the 2 hole flanges ,71 gold got the hi-pos from summit i think this is the part number c5zz-9430/1-b
Ummm, if you are getting hipo manifolds for the mustang then they will not fit your maverick. They hit the steering box and point out toward the frame rails...ask me how I know. As far as I know any old bracket (even from a 78 f100, picture) will work to attack to the manifolds, the exhaust shop should be able to flare the pipe to fit. If you want to use a flat flange arrangement then you will need to make that yourself. The pic is the mustang hipo manifolds I am using on a turbo crossover with stock f100 brackets and a exhaust shop flared pipe.
