So I am working on installing the new rubber seal that goes at the top of the cowl and seals to the bottom of the hood. My vehicle is a 1972 Grabber which used the short seal from the factory that is only across the center of the cowl. In 1973 Ford modified the seal so it ran from fender to fender to address issues of 'exhaust smell' coming in thru the fresh air vent cowl. So I want to run the later model gasket, but could use some pics of 1973 or later Mavs/Comets showing where the additional holes were drilled from the factory. Yes I already see the hole spacing is different from old to new vehicles, and the clips can be moved on the rubber seal. Anybody got any pics? The area where the cowl drops from the center to the fender level is what I need to see. That is where they have a double clip on the 73+ seal. Thanks Sean
Autokrafters sells two Hood to cowl seals, the pictures they show online are not true to life 1970-72 D0DZ-16740A https://www.autokrafters.com/p-2252...erstrip-with-clips-installed-d0dz-16740a.aspx 1973-77 D3DZ-16740 https://www.autokrafters.com/p-8831...1970-72-models-grabber-rubber-d3dz-16740.aspx
Hey Fastkarz: When you order a cowl/hood rubber seal , often the metal clips do NOT align with the prepared openings.. The metal clips can be removed and relocated easily for a correct fit . I've done this a couple of times with no problems . Cometized Chip
Anybody out there have a picture ? Still need picture from 1973-1977 of holes on cowl for hood/cowl rubber seal. Where am I drilling the holes for the double clip at either end of the center hood hump? Thanks
Still waiting on a picture so I know where the factory drilled these holes. Anyone? Bueller ? Anyone seen Ferris ?
