Just wanted to say hello. My name is Doug, I just turned 60 (old farts club). Some of my hobbies besides classic cars are fishing, metal detecting, and creating things in my workshop Although most of the classic cars I've owned have been Pontiacs (early Firebird mainly), I grew up in Indiana hanging out at the Lincoln / Mercury dealership where my dad and uncle sold cars in the 60's and 70's. I remember seeing the first Cougars and Cyclones hitting the showroom. Great times! I grew fond of the Mercury's and have always wanted to own one because it reminds me of my father. Thanks. I owned that Firebird when we lived in Calif in the 80's. It resurfaced only 20 minutes from me last year here in NC. I'm in the Asheville area.
Yes, I know where LaPorte is. I’m about 60 miles sw, near Blue Island 3/4 mile east of Interstate 57, 10 miles north I -80. Hope your fortunate too find Comet. Got mine 2009 , Iola, WS classic car corral.
