I got my plenum box back together but cannot get it snug enough to get the clips back on. Then I pressed one side tight enough to get clips installed on that side, but still have a 3/8 inch gap on the other side I’m thinking the new foam pieces are of a denser foam than the old ones. Any one else run in to this? I used the Mustang kit that was mentioned before on this forum. Any tips out there? Thanks.

The clips should not need excessive force to pop back on. Sounds like the foam needs a little help to compress. I know you are in BC, but can you lay it out in the sun to get nice and warm? That should help with getting it to compress.

Make sure the clips are going back in the recessed areas set up for them. I recently did mine and took me a bit to figure out how to get the clips back on as well.

I did mine tonight after being motivated by reading a post. I also had a gap on one side. I had to maneuver my box around a little and start from one end to the other to slowly work the gap closed. I did have to use a hammer to tap one on. Definitely make sure your clips are in the right spot and if you can let it sit in the sun and warm up, that should help with the foam as well as pliability on the case.

Thanks everyone. Got them on. Cleaned up some glue nodules that were along side the foam and corrected the position of the foam inside the front of the plenum. Also pointed a heat gun ( set to lowest position ) to warm up the box.
