I find it funny that some people feel a need to advertise what size engine is in their car. It does nothing to enhance the appearance of a car...

To each his own. Many cars from that era did advertise what was under the hood and I personally thought it was cool.

I like how they did it on the 70 Torino, engine badge behind the wheel above the rocker trim.

That's what I'm leaning toward, but I'll see how it looks beneath the Maverick emblem too. I also like the adhesive approach vs. putting holes in the car. Someone removed the emblems and bondo'ed over the original holes on mine, so I bought some good 3M double sided thin foam tape made this application and used that. I just removed the posts from the original emblems I found on Ebay, used an epoxy to fill in the cavity on the back, sanded it flat and then trimmed away excess tape. It was time consuming because of the lettering but worth it. Now half the people who see it won't ask what it is. :29:

I thought about removing mine just to keep them guessing!

Sounds like a plan! Can’t wait to see them.[/QUOTE]

Here you go William, look different? I'm really happy with the changes The bumpers and the emblems really changed the look of the car and made it look more like it should. I stripped the headlight bezels and repainted them correctly, and also added the hood nose trim piece as well. I also removed all of that weird mesh stuff he put in the valance area as well as that tag holder.

This is exactly the way my 72 looked back in the day, except this valance is from a 73 which I will address later if I go to the Grabber hood and spoilers. And of course replaced the homemade grill medallion someone made with the proper one too. I kept it though, as strange as it looked it was pretty cool.

Here's a question for the Grabber experts: Did any of the Grabbers ever have this grill style as an option, or did they all have the turn signals incorporated with the "Maverick" emblem on the right side and no medallion in the center? I believe this grill was only available in the early years as well, but if anyone knows that would be great.

I like the new look! I think the hood looks good the way it has the black inserts; if you replace it will you be able match paint..

Thanks Mojo. It's just painted stripes that also cover the trunk actually if that's what you're asking.

Definitely like the new look! I was never a fan of the mesh... as for the grill if it was a grabber it would come with sport lamps. Only non grabbers came with the medallion grill.

I was referring to matching RED paint and if you have stripes along trunk, will you remove them? Not my car, but, I think it looks good as is! Point being -- it's different.

FYI: 1976-1977 Mavericks did not say MAVERICK anywhere on the outside of the car....so no Maverick front emblems is not a surprise.

Stay away from any plastic chrome emblems.....they will fade in time. I had plastic emblems on the side of my hood scoop on this car.
